Manama: Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Yvette Cooper, Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs of the United Kingdom. The meeting highlighted the strengthening ties between the GCC and the UK.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions focused on the completion of the negotiations for a free trade agreement between the GCC and the UK. The signing of the joint statement marked a significant milestone, ushering in a new phase in the relationship between the GCC and the UK.
In addition to trade discussions, Al Budaiwi and Cooper exchanged views on recent regional developments. They emphasized the need for increased international and regional cooperation to boost security and stability.
