New York:Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), met with Luigi Di Maio, European Union (EU) Special Representative for the Gulf Region, on the sidelines of Albudaiwi's participation in the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on reviewing several topics of mutual interest, particularly GCC-European relations. The discussions centered on preparations for the Second Summit between GCC and EU leaders, set to take place next month in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.
The two sides also addressed the agenda items for the upcoming summit, evaluated the progress achieved following the first GCC-EU Summit, and considered operational mechanisms to enhance the strategic partnership between the GCC and the EU.
Additionally, they exchanged views on the latest regional and international developments.
