Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, met Mauro Vieira, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Federative Republic of Brazil, on the sidelines of the BRICS Summit hosted by the Republic of India.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting centered on the close relations between Bahrain and Brazil and explored ways to enhance bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest. The discussions included strategies for bolstering diplomatic ties and expanding partnerships across various sectors.
The dialogue also covered recent regional developments and collaborative efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz to international navigation, aiming to promote regional peace and security. The two ministers exchanged views on strengthening diplomatic cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and Brazil in international forums, particularly during Bahrain's non-permanent membership of the United Nations Security Council.
The meeting was also attended by Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, who participated in the discussions.
