Manama: Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bahrain, met with Sihasak Phuangketkeow, Thailand's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, in New Delhi. This meeting took place during their participation in the BRICS Summit hosted by the Republic of India.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions between the two leaders focused on the relationship between Thailand and Bahrain and explored avenues for strengthening and developing bilateral cooperation in various sectors. The dialogue underscored the importance of enhancing ties that benefit both nations.
The meeting also delved into pressing regional issues, particularly the repercussions of Iran's closure of the Strait of Hormuz. The closure's impact on maritime navigation, energy and food security, and international trade was a significant concern, with potential consequences for the global economy being highlighted.
Present at the meeting was Ambassador Saeed Abdulkhaliq Saeed, Chief of the Coordination and Follow-up Sector at Bahrain's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with the delegation accompanying the Bahraini Minister of Foreign Affairs.
