Egypt and Japan Discuss Digital Innovation and Entrepreneurship Cooperation


Tokyo: Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology (ICT) of Egypt, met with Keiichi Yoshimura, Director of the Tokyo Metropolitan Government’s Startup and International Financial City Strategy Office, to discuss cooperation in supporting digital innovation and entrepreneurship. The meeting was part of Minister Talaat’s visit to Japan for the SusHi Tech Tokyo 2025 conference.



According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussions focused on enhancing collaboration between Egypt’s Creativa centers and the Tokyo Innovation Base (TIB), with a particular emphasis on artificial intelligence and startup development. TIB, which was launched in May 2024 with support from the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, collaborates with more than 140 private-sector partners to support startups and facilitate their global growth.



During his visit, Minister Talaat also engaged with senior executives from Renesas Electronics, TDK, and Mitsubishi Electric. The discussions explored potential investment opportunities in semiconductors, electronics manufacturing, and research and development within Egypt.
