BJA Condemns Iranian Attacks, Commends National Measures to Protect Citizens and Residents

Manama: The Bahrain Journalists Association (BJA) strongly condemned the Iranian attacks on the Kingdom of Bahrain and other Gulf Cooperation Council countries, calling them a serious escalation that threatens regional security and stability and violates international law and the principles of good neighbourliness. It stressed that targeting civilian buildings and endangering citizens and residents is a direct attack on Bahrain’s sovereignty and national security and a clear violation of international norms protecting civilians.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the BJA commended the measures undertaken by Bahraini authorities to ensure the safety of citizens and residents, maintain social stability, protect lives, and safeguard public and private property, noting that these actions reflect a high level of preparedness, efficiency, and national responsibility. It highlighted that these measures are implemented under the directives of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with the support of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, demonstrating national cohesion and the Kingdom’s firm approach in addressing challenges.

The Association encouraged the reinforcement of national cohesion and societal unity and urged citizens to support the leadership of His Majesty the King as the most effective means to respond to the attacks responsibly and with awareness. It stressed the importance of consulting official sources, avoiding rumours and unverified information, and reaffirmed that national media will continue to perform its duties professionally, contributing to public confidence, social stability, and accurate reporting of developments.

The BJA concluded by affirming that Bahrain, supported by its institutions and national resolve, is well-positioned to navigate this period, and that the Kingdom’s security, stability, and sovereignty remain fundamental and non-negotiable.
