Manama: Dr. Ali bin Mohamed Al Romaihi, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Bahrain Institute for Political Development (BIPD), recently praised the 10th edition of the Prime Minister's Award for Journalism. This award reflects the vision of Deputy King, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, to enhance journalism's role in supporting Bahrain's development under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Dr. Al Romaihi emphasized that the award serves as a national platform recognizing exceptional journalists and media professionals. It has fostered professional competition and encouraged high-quality journalism, benefiting Bahrain's media sector. He underlined the importance of responsible journalism in truth-telling, public awareness, and strengthening trust in national media, especially during challenging times.
Dr. Al Romaihi noted the significance of investing in young media talent amidst the evolving industry landscape shaped by artificial intelligence and digital media. He highlighted the need for equipping new journalists with modern skills while upholding values of accuracy and ethics, enabling them to produce journalism that aligns with global trends and enhances Bahrain's media competitiveness.
He further stated that the BIPD considers national media a partner in promoting political awareness and public engagement. Responsible journalism, he noted, contributes to an informed society, encourages dialogue, and supports Bahrain's sustainable development.
