Batelco by Beyon Unveils Bahrain’s First White Space Data Centre at Gateway Gulf 2025

Manama: Beyon announced the completion and commissioning of its new Batelco White Space Data Centre, the first of its kind in Bahrain, during the Gateway Gulf Investor Forum 2025, held this week at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manama. The centre represents a major milestone in Batelco's data centre journey and a pivotal step in Beyon's mission to accelerate Bahrain's digital transformation and expand its world-class digital infrastructure.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Batelco White Space Data Centre spans 6,000 square metres and is part of Beyon's Data Oasis, a 140,000-square-metre site in southern Bahrain. Built to the highest international standards, the facility features agnostic technology adaptable to any sector, ensuring enterprise-grade reliability. It includes redundant power and cooling systems and is designed for scalability to meet the growing needs of AI, cloud service providers, hyperscalers, government entities, and major enterprises.

Aligned with Beyon's long-term sustainability goals, the new facility is directly connected to the company's Solar Park, sourcing a significant portion of its electricity from renewable energy. Beyon CEO Andrew Kvaalseth expressed his delight in the completion of the White Space Data Centre, emphasizing the extensive efforts and investment needed to transform their vision into reality. He highlighted the invaluable support and collaboration of Bahrain's government entities in achieving this milestone.

Batelco CEO Maitham Abdulla described the new facility as the largest and most power-dense in Bahrain and one of the most efficient in the region. He noted that the centre is designed to serve the growing needs of diverse corporate and government clients while addressing sustainability requirements through clean energy technologies from Beyon's Solar Park. The launch of Bahrain's first White Space Data Centre, Abdulla stated, reaffirms their commitment to developing world-class digital infrastructure that supports Bahrain's vision for a smart, sustainable digital future.
