Manama: In line with the directives of the Rashid Equestrian and Horseracing Club's (REHC) High Committee, chaired by His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Minister of the Prime Minister's Court, which highlight the importance of building partnerships with leading local and international institutions that support the development of horseracing, the REHC has signed a platinum sponsorship agreement with GFH Financial Group, one of the leading international financial institutions in the investment sector. The agreement continues the Club's efforts to establish high-quality partnerships that strengthen the horseracing sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the agreement was signed by Yusuf Osama Buheji, Chief Executive Officer of the REHC, and Salah Abdulla Sharif, Chief Operating Officer of GFH Financial Group. Under the agreement, GFH Financial Group will serve as the platinum sponsor of His Majesty the King's Cup Festival for three consecutive seasons starting from 2025/2026, as one of the Festival's official partners.
Buheji said that horseracing in the Kingdom of Bahrain receives strong support and attention and is witnessing significant progress through the organisation of major international races, championships, and distinguished events held by the Club. He noted that this development has attracted many local and international companies and institutions to form strategic partnerships that contribute to supporting this vital sector.
Buheji expressed appreciation to the management of GFH Financial Group for its commitment to supporting the sports sector through sponsorship of His Majesty the King's Cup Festival, stressing that the Club will continue its efforts to create an ideal environment that enhances investment appeal in horseracing and achieves the desired development goals.
On his part, Sharif expressed the Group's pride in signing this partnership with the REHC to sponsor His Majesty the King's Cup Festival, noting the Group's pride in contributing to the success of this prestigious sporting event, held under royal patronage and regarded as one of the highlights of the Kingdom's sports season.
Sharif said that the partnership forms part of GFH Financial Group's commitment to supporting sports and community initiatives in the Kingdom of Bahrain, particularly those that reflect the Kingdom's deep-rooted heritage and highlight its growing presence on the international sporting stage. He pointed out that horseracing is a promising sector experiencing continuous growth, motivating the Group to contribute to the development of this traditional sport, which enjoys wide local and international interest.
