Manama:Social Development Minister and Chairman of the National Committee for Older Persons, His Excellency Osama bin Saleh Al Alawi, has affirmed Bahrain's ongoing dedication to improving the quality of life for the elderly, ensuring their active participation in society.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized Bahrain's efforts on the International Day of Older Persons, observed on October 1. He highlighted the development of legislation, policies, and programs aimed at supporting the independence and social integration of older persons, ensuring they have access to necessary care and services.
The Ministry of Social Development is focused on strengthening partnerships with government entities, civil society organizations, and the private sector. These collaborations aim to develop day-care services and initiatives that address the needs of the elderly, enhancing their psychological and social well-being.
Efforts by the National Committee for Older Persons are also underway to boost coordination among stakeholders and reinforce social responsibility in supporting older persons. The Ministry remains committed to developing the social care system further, ensuring the elderly's safe, stable, and active involvement in society.
