Housing Minister Meets with GCC Secretary-General

Manama:Amna bint Ahmed Al Rumaihi, Minister of Housing and Urban Planning, welcomed Jasem Mohamed Al Budaiwi, Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), as he participated in the 24th meeting of the GCC Ministers of Housing Affairs, held in Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Minister Al Rumaihi praised the GCC General Secretariat's efforts in promoting collaboration and coordination among member states, which aids in the exchange of expertise and the development of joint housing initiatives and programs.

Discussions during the ministerial meeting focused on shared interests, aiming to enhance housing cooperation, learn from the successful practices of member states, and integrate social housing initiatives and programs.

The Secretary-General's visit coincides with Bahrain hosting the fourth Gulf Housing Week. This event serves as a platform for sharing modern initiatives and solutions in the housing sector, with participation from GCC ministers, senior officials, and experts.

Additionally, the second edition of the Innovation Summit in the Social Housing Sector 2026 is part of the events, highlighting the latest trends and innovative solutions in social housing. It emphasizes the importance of strategic partnerships, as well as the banking and real estate sectors, in developing housing solutions and facilitating further exchange among GCC countries.
