Washington: The Foreign Ministry of Bahrain participated in political consultations with the United States Department of State on various issues concerning the United Nations Security Council agenda. Representing Bahrain were Ambassador Nancy Abdullah Jamal, the Deputy Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the United Nations in New York, and Hatem Abdulhameed Hatem, Chief of the Organisations at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. The meeting in Washington was chaired by McCoy Pitt, Senior Bureau Official for the Bureau of International Organisation Affairs at the US State Department.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the consultation meeting was organized within the context of Bahrain's non-permanent membership of the UN Security Council for the 2026-2027 term. The two countries engaged in an exchange of views on numerous issues listed on the Security Council's agenda. Additionally, the discussions focused on enhancing cooperation and coordination between Bahrain and the United States within the Council, as well as reviewing regional and international matters of shared interest.
