Manama: A delegation from the Bahrain Economic Development Board (Bahrain EDB), led by Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of Bahrain EDB, has wrapped up a strategic four-day visit to France and the Principality of Monaco. The visit aimed at strengthening economic ties and engaging with government stakeholders, investors, and strategic partners. This initiative reflects Bahrain EDB's ongoing efforts to promote the Kingdom's competitive investment environment and foster partnerships for long-term economic growth.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the delegation's program in France included a series of meetings with strategic partners and business leaders, alongside participation in activities related to the upcoming Tour de France 2026. The Kingdom's pavilion during the event served as a platform to connect with a network of international investors and executives.
In Monaco, Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif and the delegation engaged with Isabelle Berro-Amade, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, and Ludmilla Raconnat Le Goff, CEO of Invest Monaco, among other key representatives. Discussions centered on enhancing bilateral economic ties and exploring opportunities for collaboration in support of sustainable economic growth.
The Bahrain EDB also held meetings with leading Monegasque companies in tourism, hospitality, and education sectors. Additionally, they participated in a business event attended by over 20 companies, discussing ways to expand commercial ties and encourage investment flows. The recent opening of APM Monaco's flagship store in Bahrain marks a positive milestone in the commercial relationship between the two regions.
This visit marks a significant milestone in the growing relationship between Bahrain and France, as well as Bahrain and Monaco. Through high-level meetings and strategic discussions, the delegation exchanged perspectives and identified new avenues for cooperation in key sectors.
Bahrain and France have enjoyed 177 years of diplomatic relations, supported by trade and investment. French companies, such as BNP Paribas and Vinci Energies, have played a crucial role in Bahrain's economy. The relationship is strengthened by sustained high-level engagement and a shared commitment to long-term growth, demonstrated by Bahrain's Mumtalakat partnering with French firm TRAIL to invest in the SLAM Fund.
Bahrain and Monaco also maintain strong diplomatic and economic relations, with a focus on diversification and sustainability. Both regions are exploring opportunities for collaboration across tourism, hospitality, and financial services.
