Manama: The Kingdom of Bahrain strongly condemned the terrorist threats issued by the Iranian-backed Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. These threats, which include allegations, incitement, and irresponsible escalation, are seen as a serious threat to regional security and stability, maritime navigation, international trade, and innocent civilians. Bahrain stated that such actions represent a clear violation of international law, the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea, and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed Bahrain's unwavering position and full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, emphasizing that Saudi Arabia's security is integral to Bahrain's security. The ministry reiterated Bahrain's complete support for all legitimate measures taken by Saudi Arabia to safeguard its sovereignty, security, stability, and territorial integrity. It also highlighted the necessity of international cooperation to protect maritime navigation in the Red Sea, Bab al Mandab Strait, and other crucial waterways to ensure the security of energy supplies and the uninterrupted flow of global trade.
Furthermore, the ministry expressed Bahrain's appreciation for the diplomatic, humanitarian, and development efforts led by Saudi Arabia to achieve a comprehensive and lasting political solution to the Yemeni crisis. This solution aligns with the Gulf Initiative and its implementation mechanism, the outcomes of the National Dialogue Conference, and relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216. These efforts aim to preserve Yemen's unity, sovereignty, and territorial integrity while fulfilling the aspirations of the Yemeni people for security, stability, and sustainable prosperity.
