Madinah:Manama Bahrain has issued a strong condemnation of the Houthi militia's attempt to target the Madinah Region in Saudi Arabia with a ballistic missile. Additionally, a drone was launched towards Saudi Arabia's Eastern Province by the same group.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Bahrain Ministry of Foreign Affairs described these actions as a violation of Saudi Arabia's sovereignty and international law. Bahrain expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting its measures to protect its sovereignty, security, and citizens. The statement emphasized Saudi Arabia's right to self-defense under Article 51 of the United Nations Charter, underscoring that Saudi security is integral to the security of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called upon the United Nations Security Council to take decisive actions against the recurring Houthi attacks, prevent threats to holy sites and civilians, and hold the perpetrators accountable. It urged the implementation of Security Council resolutions, particularly Resolution 2216 (2015), to maintain regional and international peace and security.
