Vienna:Bahrain Network (BNET), the national fiber network provider in the Kingdom of Bahrain, has been honored with the "Best Smart Home Customer Experience" award at the Global Network X Awards in Vienna, Austria. This recognition was awarded for BNET's nationwide launch of the Fiber to the Room (FTTR) service.
According to Bahrain News Agency, BNET's victory came after competing against prominent global telecommunications operators and technology providers from various countries. This achievement underscores that leadership in the telecommunications sector is now defined by the quality of customer experience within homes, rather than speed alone.
The FTTR service is part of BNET's initiative to extend fiber connectivity to every residence in the Kingdom. It offers high-speed internet through thin, discreet fiber wiring from the main router to sub-devices in selected rooms, eliminating the need for wall drilling and allowing for same-day installation. This service ensures consistent speeds and a stable connection throughout the home, catering to the needs of ultra-HD streaming, online gaming, and smart home applications.
BNET's success is attributed to its integrated infrastructure, developed over recent years, which now covers 99.2% of inhabited residences in Bahrain. This comprehensive coverage has enabled the service to be launched on a nationwide scale.
Shaikh Ebrahim bin Mohamed Al Khalifa, Chief Commercial Officer at BNET, expressed pride in this global recognition, stating that it adds to Bahrain's achievements in the telecommunications sector. The FTTR service brings fiber connectivity to every room, allowing residents to enjoy Gigabit speeds throughout their homes.
