Manama: The inaugural Danat Women's Swimming Championship, organized by the Bahrain Aquatics Association and under the patronage of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW), is set to take place on August 22. This event marks the first premier women's swimming championship in the history of the federation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the championship is being held in conjunction with the SCW's 25th anniversary celebration, highlighting the increasing involvement of Bahraini women in sports. The event aims to support national efforts in promoting equal opportunities for women in sports and is seen as a platform for identifying and nurturing female talent in aquatics.
Lulwa bint Saleh Al Awadhi, Secretary General of the SCW, emphasized that the championship represents a significant step in supporting Bahraini women's participation in sports. She noted its importance in providing equal opportunities and its role in identifying and fostering talent among female athletes in the field of aquatics.
Dr. Maryam Ali Abulfateh, Vice President of the Bahrain Aquatics Association and Chair of the Arab Aquatics Federation Women's Committee, remarked that the championship is a milestone for women's aquatics in Bahrain. She highlighted its potential in helping to develop female talent and prepare athletes for regional and international competitions.
