New York:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, Bahrain's Minister of Foreign Affairs, met with Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan, during the 81st session of the UN General Assembly.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the meeting focused on the historical ties between Bahrain and Pakistan and the interest shown by the leadership of both nations. The discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation in political, economic, trade, and development sectors to support the aspirations of both countries and their people.
The two sides also reviewed the latest regional developments and efforts to promote regional security and stability. This included Pakistan's mediation efforts to de-escalate tensions and facilitate US-Iran negotiations. Additionally, they addressed the impact of maritime navigation disruptions in the Strait of Hormuz and Bab Al Mandab on international trade and the global economy, emphasizing the importance of ongoing coordination and mutual support during their respective terms as members of the UN Security Council.
Ambassador Jamal Fares Al Rowaie, Bahrain's Permanent Representative to the United Nations, was also in attendance.
