Jakarta:The Kingdom of Bahrain has retained its Tier 1 status for the ninth consecutive year in the US Department of State's annual Trafficking in Persons Report, according to Yousif bin Abdulhussain Khalaf, Minister of Labour, Minister of Legal Affairs, and Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA).
According to Bahrain News Agency, this achievement reflects Bahrain's sustained efforts to combat human trafficking. The nation continues to develop legislation and policies that align with international standards, focusing on strengthening workplace protections and safeguarding the rights of both employers and workers.
Khalaf highlighted effective coordination among various government bodies, including the Ministry of Interior, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, Supreme Judicial Council, Public Prosecution, and the LMRA. These collaborations have been crucial in enhancing prevention, protection, and enforcement measures against human trafficking.
