Aluminium Bahrain Celebrates Decade of Zero Heat-Related Injuries

Manama:Aluminium Bahrain B.S.C. (Alba), one of the world's largest aluminium smelters, has completed its 10th consecutive summer without a single heat-related injury or illness. This milestone reinforces Alba's decade-long record of disciplined safety execution and preventive risk management.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this achievement is particularly noteworthy given Bahrain's challenging summer working conditions. Maintaining a record of zero heat-related injuries over ten summers highlights Alba's commitment to its "Safety First, Safety Always" principle, which is supported by workforce ownership, visible leadership, and data-driven prevention strategies.

Ali Al Baqali, Alba's Chief Executive Officer, emphasized the importance of this accomplishment, attributing it to the dedication of every Alba employee and contractor. He noted that the culture of personal responsibility and care is integral as the company progresses towards its 2026 objectives.

Throughout the summer, Alba executed a variety of initiatives under its Summer Preparation Plan and Summer Safety and Health Campaign. These included providing workers with guidance on heat stress prevention and safe work practices, backed by leadership engagement, enhanced supervision, and continuous monitoring. Advanced testing systems have been utilized to offer real-time hydration readings, facilitating earlier interventions and supporting a shift to real-time, risk-based prevention.
