Baku:Al Areen Development Company W.L.L. has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Ennismore, a global lifestyle hospitality company, to manage and operate the Rixos hotel adjacent to Janat Dilmun Water Park in Al Areen, as part of the Al Areen Master Plan in Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed during Gateway Gulf 2026. The agreement includes plans to relaunch the hotel under the Rixos brand following development and upgrades to meet the brand's standards. The hotel will offer various amenities including guest rooms, hotel villas, Rixos branded residential apartments, restaurants, a spa, a gym, ballroom and meeting facilities, and a kids' club.
The project will be directly connected to Janat Dilmun Water Park, Bahrain's largest water park, creating a comprehensive hospitality and entertainment destination for families and international visitors. Dr. Ahlam Zainal, CEO of Al Areen Development, emphasized that the introduction of Rixos will enhance the integration of Al Areen as a residential, hospitality, and leisure destination, while also attracting international brands to support Bahrain's tourism sector.
Dr. Essa Faqeeh, CEO of Areen Hospitality, highlighted that the collaboration with Ennismore will introduce a new hospitality offering by combining hotel accommodation with access to Janat Dilmun Water Park, thereby providing an integrated leisure experience for families and visitors. Francois Baudin, Chief Business Officer of Accor, noted that the project will implement Rixos' family hospitality concept, complementing the water park and contributing to the Al Areen Master Plan.
Al Areen Development Company is focused on developing the Al Areen Master Plan, which aims to create an integrated mixed-use destination featuring residential, hospitality, retail, and leisure projects, with an emphasis on quality, sustainability, and design harmonized with the natural environment.
