Manama:The Social Insurance Organisation (SIO) has developed its death insurance benefit service, enhancing efficiency and ease for beneficiaries as part of government initiatives to improve service quality and streamline procedures.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the upgraded service now processes automatically, significantly reducing the previous processing time of eight working days. Key improvements include a 50% reduction in required documents, a reduction of at least 25% in the service-level agreement, a decrease in application steps from five to three, and a 25% reduction in the required approvals. The service has been fully digitized, featuring online application forms, a simplified user interface, and fewer pages to navigate.
Sahar Rashid Al Mannai, Chief Executive Officer of the SIO, emphasized that the development considers the needs of bereaved families, offering simpler and more flexible procedures to obtain death-related insurance benefits without the necessity of visiting authorities or submitting paper documents. The service is part of a broader range of digital insurance services related to deaths, supported by enhanced data integration and streamlined procedures.
In alignment with ongoing government efforts to enhance and re-engineer public services, over 1,300 government services have been documented and translated, with 800 undergoing development across various sectors. These initiatives incorporate feedback from the National Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul), investors' comments, and mystery shopper reports, in addition to the introduction of service guides and service-level agreements aimed at improving efficiency, service quality, and user experience, further advancing digital transformation.
