Manama:Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), took part in a tree-planting activity alongside members of Tamkeen's executive management team. This initiative was held to support national efforts aimed at promoting environmental sustainability, coinciding with the launch of this year's Tree Week by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the participation of Tamkeen's leadership aligns with the objectives of the National Afforestation Plan. This plan seeks to increase the number of trees in Bahrain to 3.6 million and to quadruple the number of mangrove trees by 2035.
The afforestation efforts are part of broader national strategies to reduce carbon emissions by 30%, enhance the quality of life, and achieve carbon neutrality by 2060.
