Riyadh:Jasem Mohamed Albudaiwi, Secretary General of the Gulf Cooperation Council, has strongly condemned the Houthi militias for their terrorist attack on King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, which resulted in several fatalities.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Albudaiwi issued an official statement denouncing the deliberate targeting of civilian airports and civilians by the Houthi militia. He called for serious international action and decisive measures to deter such attacks and prevent their recurrence, citing violations of fundamental humanitarian principles and international conventions.
He emphasized that the security of Saudi Arabia is intrinsically linked to the security of GCC member states. The Gulf Cooperation Council has expressed its full support for Saudi Arabia in its efforts to safeguard its security, protect its resources, and maintain its territorial integrity.
Albudaiwi also offered his heartfelt condolences and sympathy to the families and relatives of those who perished in the attack and wished the injured a swift recovery.
