Speaker of Bahrain’s Council Condemns Houthi Attacks on Saudi Airport

Jakarta:Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, has strongly condemned the Houthi terrorist attacks on King Khalid International Airport and a Saudi Airlines aircraft in Saudi Arabia, which resulted in three Saudi citizens' deaths and injuries to several others.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam sent a cable to Sheikh Dr. Abdullah bin Mohammed bin Ibrahim Al Al-Sheikh, Speaker of the Saudi Shura Council. In it, he described the attacks as blatant violations of international law, international humanitarian law, and the United Nations Charter, marking a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and civil aviation safety.

The Speaker expressed the Council of Representatives' complete solidarity with Saudi Arabia, supporting all actions taken to protect its sovereignty, security, and stability, and to safeguard its citizens and residents.

He emphasized that any threat to Saudi Arabia's security is also a threat to the security of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries. Al Musallam extended condolences to the victims' families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

Al Musallam called for a decisive international response to the ongoing Houthi terrorist attacks on civilian infrastructure, urging measures to stop these attacks, hold the perpetrators accountable, and uphold regional and global security and peace.
