Manama:The Labour Market Regulatory Authority (LMRA) reported the execution of 4,847 inspection campaigns and visits throughout September 2026, leading to the detention of 67 irregular workers and the deportation of 547 violators in efforts to uphold a balanced and competitive labour market.

According to Bahrain News Agency, these inspections identified multiple violations concerning the Kingdom of Bahrain's regulatory laws, particularly the LMRA and Residency Laws, prompting necessary legal actions.

A total of 4,675 inspections targeted various shops across all governorates, complemented by 172 joint campaigns. Specifically, there were 74 campaigns in the Capital Governorate, 22 in the Muharraq Governorate, 67 in the Northern Governorate, and 19 in the Southern Governorate.

Several government entities participated in these campaigns, including the Ministry of Interior's Nationality, Passports and Residence Affairs, the General Directorate of Crime Detection and Forensic Science, respective Governorate Police Directorates, the General Directorate of Civil Defense, the Coast Guard, as well as the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority, the Social Insurance Organization, the Electricity and Water Authority, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Municipality Affairs and Agriculture.

The LMRA emphasized ongoing collaboration with government bodies to escalate inspection campaigns across all governorates, aiming to deter violations that undermine the labour market's stability and competitiveness, as well as the Kingdom's economic and social security.

The Authority urged public support in combating illegal labour practices, encouraging citizens to report violations via the electronic form on their website, by contacting the call center, or through the government’s Suggestions and Complaints System (Tawasul).
