Manama:MP Ahmed Sabah Al Saloom took part in the 218th session of the Governing Council of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), representing Bahrain as the current president of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA).
According to Bahrain News Agency, the session is part of the 153rd IPU General Assembly. Discussions included proposals for electing the President of the 153rd IPU General Assembly and reviewing agenda items, such as reports from the IPU President and Secretary-General.
The Governing Council also examined proposed amendments to the IPU Statutes and Rules. Additionally, the session covered initiatives related to the 2027 priority topic and included reports from IPU committees and bodies, along with updates on the Union's specialized meetings.
