Manama: Ahmed bin Salman Al Musallam, Speaker of the Council of Representatives, held a meeting with Akram Karimi, Tajikistan's Ambassador-designate to Bahrain, who is based in Riyadh. During the meeting, the ambassador extended an invitation for Al Musallam to visit Tajikistan, conveyed on behalf of the Speaker of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Al Musallam praised the robust relations between Bahrain and Tajikistan, emphasizing the dedication of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and President Emomali Rahmon of Tajikistan to strengthen and expand cooperation in multiple areas. He highlighted the importance of enhancing parliamentary collaboration between the Council of Representatives and the Majlisi Oli, suggesting that this cooperation would benefit both nations, promote the exchange of expertise, and aid in forming shared stances on regional and international matters of mutual interest.
Al Musallam also extended congratulations to the ambassador on the occasion of Tajikistan's Independence Day, acknowledging Bahrain's respect for this significant event that marks a milestone in the development and advancement of the Tajik people. He pointed out the upcoming participation of a Bahraini Parliamentary Division delegation in an Asian Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Tajikistan, underscoring Bahrain's dedication to supporting collaborative Asian parliamentary initiatives and fostering interaction with partners at regional and international levels.
The Tajik Ambassador expressed gratitude for the strong ties between Bahrain and Tajikistan, reaffirming his country's commitment to further developing bilateral and parliamentary cooperation that aligns with their shared interests.
