Cairo: Fawzia Zainal, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States, participated in the 166th Ordinary Session of the Council of the League of Arab States at the level of Permanent Representatives in Cairo. In her address during the meeting, the Ambassador affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain's commitment, during its presidency of the 165th session, to supporting joint Arab action and strengthening Arab coordination to promote security and stability in the region, based on the principle that Arab national security is indivisible.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Ambassador condemned the repeated Iranian attacks targeting the member states of the Gulf Cooperation Council and the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, stressing that they constitute a violation of international law and undermine peace and security in the region. She further stressed the rejection of threats that undermine the sovereignty of Arab states and the security of their citizens.
The Ambassador underscored the importance of the Palestinian cause, stressing the need for an immediate ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, the delivery of humanitarian assistance, and safeguarding the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab Peace Initiative.
She expressed her appreciation to the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States and the fraternal Arab countries for their cooperation and support during the Kingdom of Bahrain's presidency of the 165th session, wishing the Republic of Tunisia success during its presidency of the 166th session. The meeting was attended by Ambassador Ahmed Mohammed Al Turaifi, Chief of the Arab and African Affairs Sector at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
