Manama: Noor bint Ali Alkhulaif, Minister of Sustainable Development and Chief Executive of the Bahrain Economic Development Board, presented the Kingdom of Bahrain's Third Voluntary National Review on progress towards the Sustainable Development Goals during the 2026 High-Level Political Forum on Sustainable Development at the United Nations Headquarters.According to Bahrain News Agency, Noor Alkhulaif highlighted Bahrain's ongoing efforts under the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa. The Kingdom is focused on enhancing quality of life, economic growth, and the preservation of natural resources and cultural heritage.The review showcased Bahrain's strategy for localizing the SDGs through four key pillars: empowering human capital, preserving heritage and culture, securing the future, and promoting economic sustainability. Alkhulaif emphasized Bahrain's systematic approach, which involves continuous monitoring of national indica tors and collaboration with stakeholders.Bahrain's investment in education, healthcare, and skills development was highlighted as a means to equip citizens with future-ready skills, empower youth, and advance women's participation. The Kingdom is adopting precision medical technologies, modernizing curricula, and expanding academic programs.Alkhulaif also addressed Bahrain's dedication to cultural preservation and its role as a model of tolerance and coexistence. Preparations for Bahrain Vision 2050 were discussed, focusing on environmental sustainability, climate action, urban development, and investment in advanced technologies.The Kingdom's economic diversification efforts were noted, with the non-oil sector contributing significantly to the GDP.
