Trump Announces US Military Actions Against Iran’s Strait Of Hormuz Capabilities

Washington: US President Donald Trump announced on Monday that American forces are actively targeting Iran's military capabilities linked to the Strait of Hormuz, reinstating a blockade aimed at limiting the country's strategic influence in the region.

According to Nam News Network, Trump emphasized that despite the increasing military pressure, a diplomatic resolution with Tehran remains on the table. "We're attacking them tonight, and we're taking out all of their capability for anything having to do with the Strait of Hormuz," Trump stated during a press conference at the White House. He accused Iran of reneging on agreements and claimed they have repeatedly violated past commitments, which has led to escalated tensions.

Trump highlighted the ongoing military operations, marking the third consecutive night of US strikes aimed at diminishing Iran's potential to disrupt commercial shipping and regional security around the Strait of Hormuz. He asserted the US's intention to eliminate Iran's offensive capabilities and mentioned the reinstatement of a blockade exclusively targeting Iranian interests.

The president further elaborated on the blockade's strategic importance, asserting its effectiveness in conjunction with military actions. He clarified that while the blockade primarily affects Iran, commercial activities from other nations would not be hindered.

In response, Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi reaffirmed Tehran's role as the "guardian" of the Strait, countering Trump's threats to impose shipping fees in the area. Trump also mentioned potential reimbursement from Gulf countries for the US's protective actions in the strait, naming Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

Addressing reports of Iranian drones possibly being stationed in Cuba, Trump vowed decisive action if such claims are validated, underscoring the US's commitment to preventing further regional instability.
