Manama: The Bahrain Inherited Traditional Sports Committee, known as Mawrooth, is set to participate in the upcoming Youth City 2030 event. Scheduled to take place from July 12 to August 20 at Exhibition World Bahrain, the committee is prepared to offer a unique "Heritage School" programme aimed at connecting children and young people with Bahrain's rich heritage and national identity.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the programme will feature both theoretical and practical learning experiences, focusing on various aspects of Bahraini heritage. Over three weeks, participants will engage in nine training days, with the programme being repeated twice during the event. The comprehensive curriculum will explore both land and maritime heritage, traditional etiquette, hospitality, and the customs and traditions of the Kingdom.
Significantly, the programme will delve into Bahrain's maritime heritage, offering insights into traditional fishing, pearl diving, and rowing. It will also highlight desert heritage through activities involving Arabian horses, falconry, salukis, and camel culture. Tariq Juma Salem, Chief Executive of Mawrooth, emphasized the committee's dedication to preserving Bahrain's heritage and sharing it with younger generations through dynamic educational initiatives. He praised the Ministry of Youth Affairs for its role in organizing Youth City 2030 and supporting programs that nurture the skills and talents of young people.
