Shura Council Sec Gen Highlights Bahrain’s Progress in Equal Opportunities and National Talent Empowerment

Manama: The Shura Council recently hosted the "Equality and Excellence 2026" competition, organized by the Equal Opportunities Committee at the General Secretariat of the Shura Council. This event is part of the council's initiatives to enhance institutional awareness regarding equal opportunities and gender balance, while also promoting best practices within the Kingdom of Bahrain.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Kareema Mohammed Al Abbasi, Secretary-General of the Shura Council, emphasized Bahrain's progress in promoting equal opportunities and empowering national talents. She attributed this progress to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, with active support from His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. Al Abbasi highlighted that these efforts have contributed to creating an institutional environment founded on balance and equal opportunities and have been instrumental in investing in human capital, a crucial element of Bahrain's sustainable development.

Al Abbasi further stated that the General Secretariat of the Shura Council remains committed to promoting equal opportunity initiatives, in alignment with the national directives and the visions led by Her Royal Highness Princess Sabeeka bint Ibrahim Al Khalifa, Consort of His Majesty the King and President of the Supreme Council for Women (SCW). She noted these efforts as vital in supporting the National Plan for the Advancement of Bahraini Women, thereby fostering institutional integration.

Additionally, Al Abbasi acknowledged the ongoing directives from Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, which aim to integrate these principles across the General Secretariat's programs and initiatives. She underscored the belief that equal opportunities are essential for enhancing institutional performance and fostering a positive work environment that encourages excellence and innovation.
