Judicial and Legal Studies Institute and British University Forge Partnership to Boost Legal Training

Manama: Nawaf bin Mohammed Al Maawda, Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments, and Dr. Ibrahim Mohammed Al Janahi, President of the British University, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance legal training. The agreement between the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute and the British University aims to strengthen cooperation in legal studies and professional training.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized that the partnership reflects the ministry's commitment to collaborating with national academic institutions. This collaboration focuses on developing national legal talent and enhancing specialized legal training. The goal is to equip professionals with the necessary knowledge and skills to keep pace with developments in the legal and judicial sectors.

Dr. Al Janahi noted that the MoU would support the advancement of legal education and professional training. This will be achieved through the exchange of academic and practical expertise and collaboration in designing and delivering specialized legal programs that align with best educational and professional practices.

Judge Dr. Riyadh Mohammed Sayadi, Director of the Judicial and Legal Studies Institute, highlighted that the agreement marks a significant step towards enhancing specialized legal training in Bahrain. This is particularly relevant for professional programs delivered in English, as it strengthens the connection between academic study and practical application. It also focuses on developing training content that meets the needs of the legal sector.

The MoU also outlines cooperation in developing English-language legal materials, designing and implementing specialized training programs, and leveraging the university's academic expertise in joint legal and professional initiatives.
