Manama: His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa received a telephone call from Antonio Costa, President of the European Council. During the call, Costa expressed solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain following the recent hostile attacks launched by Iran. He affirmed the European Council's support for Bahrain and for all measures undertaken by the Kingdom to safeguard its security and protect its national interests and praised the strong ties between the European Union and Bahrain.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Costa noted that diplomacy and dialogue remain the best path to achieving security and stability, stressing the importance of continuing efforts to support diplomatic solutions and safeguard security and freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz in a manner that enhances regional and international security and stability.
His Majesty the King expressed appreciation to Costa for the European Council's solidarity with Bahrain, affirming the importance of strengthening cooperation and coordination between Bahrain, the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries, and the European Union. The conversation underscored the need to further consolidate bilateral relations in a manner that serves shared interests and supports security and stability in the region and the world.
