Manama: Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the 11th edition of the Nasser bin Hamad Season for Falcons and Hunting has officially begun with the initiation of the falconry warm-up championship. This event is organized by the Bahrain Inherited Traditional Sports Committee, also known as Mawrooth.
According to Bahrain News Agency, Khalifa bin Abdulla Al Qaoud, Chairman of Mawrooth, emphasized that the vision of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad is to modernize traditional sports while expanding participation both locally and across the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) region. This approach aims to reinforce cultural ties within the Gulf.
The Nasser bin Hamad Season for Falcons and Hunting is a significant cultural event that includes various activities such as falconry, horse and camel races, and youth-focused activities under the “Heritage School” initiative. Scheduled to run through February, the season is designed to blend tradition with modern engagement, thereby strengthening Bahrain’s role as a custodian of Arab heritage.
