Youth City 2030 Hosts Empowerment Programme for People of Determination

Manama: Youth City 2030, organised by the Ministry of Youth Affairs in cooperation with its strategic partner, the Labour Fund (Tamkeen), continues to deliver initiatives that support youth empowerment and skills development. As part of its programmes, the city is hosting a collaboration between the Lamea Association and the Sumw Initiative to empower people of determination and prepare them for professional and personal success.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Fatima Nasser, representative of the Lamea Association, said the collaboration includes a specialised workshop on team building for people of determination in partnership with the Sumw Initiative. She noted that the workshop focuses on developing teamwork and communication skills through interactive activities and practical exercises designed to encourage participants' engagement.

She added that the initiative aims to equip participants with the professional and personal skills needed to facilitate their integration into the labour market and enable them to play an active role in society.

The collaboration builds on the achievements of the Sumw Initiative, launched in 2016 as Bahrain's first specialised training initiative for people of determination. Since its inception, the initiative has provided vocational training and professional development programmes that have contributed to employment opportunities for participants and earned several regional awards.

Participants in the programme commended the supportive learning environment and the opportunities provided through workshops, artistic activities, educational visits, and practical training, highlighting the programme's role in developing their skills, boosting their confidence, and preparing them for future employment.
