Youth Affairs Minister Convenes Key Meeting with Youth Empowerment Centres

Manama: Rawan bint Najeeb Tawfiqi, the Minister of Youth Affairs, chaired the second meeting of the Cooperation Committee between the Ministry of Youth Affairs and youth empowerment centres. This meeting is part of ongoing efforts to enhance institutional coordination and bolster the national youth work system.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized the critical nature of a robust partnership between the ministry and youth empowerment centres. She outlined shared goals such as identifying and nurturing youth talents, enhancing their skills, and preparing them for future challenges. The ministry's initiatives are guided by a strategic vision inspired by His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Works and Youth Affairs. This vision aims to strengthen the roles of youth centres and align programme developments with the aspirations of the youth.

The minister lauded the commitment of the centre heads to the committee's objectives, underscoring that unified planning, collaboration, and teamwork are vital for improving the quality of programmes and achieving sustainable outcomes for young people. The meeting included a review of the proposed programme calendar for 2026, a draft guide for youth centre infrastructure, and a framework for an awareness programme on investment and business establishment to foster entrepreneurship among the youth.

The establishment of the Cooperation Committee was mandated by a ministerial decision to facilitate coordination between the ministry and youth empowerment centres. It aims to enhance programme quality, exchange expertise, share best practices, and develop partnerships with the private sector to ensure sustainability in youth-related work.
