Accra:Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, engaged in a phone conversation with Dr. Afrah Abdulaziz Al Zouba, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Republic of Yemen.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the discussion focused on strengthening the fraternal relations between Bahrain and Yemen, exploring ways to enhance bilateral cooperation. The ministers also deliberated on ongoing coordination concerning Yemen-related issues at the UN Security Council, particularly in light of Bahrain's membership.
The conversation addressed the Houthi militia's persistent attacks on Saudi Arabia, which include deliberate strikes on civilian facilities and airports in Abha, Jazan, Najran, Riyadh, and Aden. These actions pose risks to civil aviation and violate international humanitarian law and the Convention on International Civil Aviation (Chicago Convention).
Furthermore, the ministers exchanged views on the efforts by Yemen's legitimate government to assert its authority across the country, combat Houthi militias, and restore security and stability. They also discussed safeguarding Yemen's sovereignty and territorial integrity and fulfilling the Yemeni people's aspirations for security, development, and prosperity.
