US Inflation Edges Up to 2.8% in September

Washington: US inflation rose to 2.8% year-on-year in September, according to data released today, remaining above the Federal Reserve's 2% target.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the Consumer Price Index, the Federal Reserve's preferred measure of inflation, had increased by 2.7% in August. Core inflation, which excludes food and energy prices, also stood at 2.8% in September, marking a slight decline of 0.1 percentage point from the previous month.
