Manama: On the sidelines of the fourth meeting of the Bahraini-Saudi Coordination Council, chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, and His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the University of Bahrain (UoB) and King Saud University.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the MoU was signed by Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of UoB Board of Trustees, and by Salman bin Yousef Al Dosari, Minister of Media of Saudi Arabia. The MoU aims to enhance academic and scientific cooperation between the two institutions, develop partnership areas that support higher education and research priorities in both countries, and provide a framework for joint coordination, exploring opportunities for collaboration, and exchanging expertise in relevant academic and scientific domains.
The agreement reflects the commitment of both sides to enhance regional cooperation and understanding through joint programmes that promote academic integration and the sharing of experience. It also aims to support teaching and research programmes and develop the professional and scientific capabilities of faculty members and students.
The MoU includes cooperation in key areas such as research and scientific publication, joint academic programmes, and the exchange of faculty and students to enhance educational and research expertise and expand academic development opportunities. Both sides emphasised that this marks the beginning of a new phase of constructive cooperation to achieve shared goals and raise the quality of academic and research outcomes.
