Abu dhabi: The United Arab Emirates The United Arab Emirates strongly condemned the Iranian attack targeting a vessel affiliated with the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) while transiting the Strait of Hormuz. No injuries were reported.
According to Bahrain News Agency, in a statement, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasised that the attack constitutes a flagrant violation of UN Security Council Resolution 2817, which underscored the importance of freedom of navigation and rejected attacks on commercial vessels or the obstruction of international maritime routes.
The ministry described the targeting of commercial shipping and the use of the Strait of Hormuz as a tool of economic pressure or blackmail as acts of piracy by Iran's Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and a direct threat to regional stability and global energy security.
The UAE stressed the need for Iran to halt the attacks, fully commit to ending all hostilities, and completely and unconditionally reopen the Strait of Hormuz to support regional security and the stability of the global economy and trade.
