Abu dhabi: His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, and Abdel Fattah El Sisi, President of the Arab Republic of Egypt, discussed cooperation and joint work, particularly in the economic and development domains, and means to advance them in line with shared development priorities and mutual interests.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the talks took place as HH Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed received the Egyptian President on a visit, during which they exchanged greetings ahead of Eid al-Fitr.
The meeting also covered developments in the Middle East amid escalating military activity. President El Sisi reiterated Egypt's condemnation of the blatant Iranian attacks targeting the UAE and a number of other countries, affirming Egypt's full solidarity with the UAE in all measures it takes to protect its security and territorial integrity.
Both sides stressed the need for an immediate halt to the escalation and for dialogue and diplomatic means to resolve outstanding issues in a way that preserves regional security and stability.
The meeting was attended by the Deputy Chairman of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, the Adviser to the UAE President, and a number of senior officials.
