Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, has launched a commemorative stamp to mark the Year of Isa Al Kabeer. This initiative honors His Highness the late Isa Al Kabeer, the Ruler of Bahrain and its Dependencies, who was instrumental in founding the modern state and leading institutional development in the country.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister emphasized that the commemorative stamp is a significant national milestone that documents the history of Bahrain's postal sector. The postal sector began on August 1, 1884, with the establishment of the first post office in Manama. Over the years, the sector has evolved to enhance communication and support various developmental aspects, paving the way for a modern postal system that aligns with technological advancements and caters to community needs.
The minister highlighted the importance of commemorating national figures through stamp issues, noting that stamps play a crucial role in documenting significant national milestones and preserving Bahrain's national memory for future generations.
