Manama: Dr. Shaikh Abdullah bin Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Khalifa, Minister of Transportation and Telecommunications, received Khaled Abdul Salam Al Mekwad, the United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bahrain. The meeting focused on discussing the ongoing and future collaborations between Bahrain and the United Nations, particularly in the areas of transportation, communications, and digital transformation.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the minister highlighted the government's commitment to enhancing cooperation with the UN and its agencies. This collaboration aims to align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework (UNSDCF) for the years 2025 to 2029. The minister emphasized that these efforts are part of Bahrain's broader strategy to advance its infrastructure and digital capabilities.
Al Mekwad, on his part, expressed his appreciation for the support provided by the Bahraini government to the UN country team. He conveyed his best wishes for Bahrain's continued success in its developmental endeavors.
