Tamkeen’s Skills Bahrain Report Highlights Top Jobs in Bahrain’s Private Education Sector

Manama: The Labour Fund “Tamkeen” has unveiled the Private Education Sector Skills Report under the “Skills Bahrain” initiative, emphasizing its dedication to nurturing national talent and matching their skills to the evolving demands of the national economy.

According to Bahrain News Agency, the report pinpoints the five most sought-after positions in Bahrain’s private education sector, offering an in-depth analysis of the essential technical and core skills required for each role. The document highlights significant shifts in the private education sector, both locally and globally, fueled by the rapid integration of modern technology, digital innovation, and a heightened focus on diversity and inclusivity in teaching practices.

The report further emphasizes the critical role of digital tools and artificial intelligence in education, alongside utilizing data analysis to customize learning content and streamline assessment processes. This approach aims to enhance education quality by creating more interactive and adaptable learning experiences.

Developed in collaboration with a working group comprising representatives from educational and training institutions and relevant stakeholders, the report identifies the most in-demand roles, including Special Education Needs (SEN) educators, instructional designers, educational technologists, and academic and career counselors. It also details the necessary technical skills, such as assessment design, emerging technology adoption, data analysis, and professional classroom management, alongside core skills like communication, empathy, adaptability, inclusivity, planning, and organization.

Amer Marhoon, Director General of Skills Bahrain, stressed the report’s significance in fostering national competencies. He highlighted that it serves as a strategic tool to pinpoint priority skills in the education sector and to synchronize educational outcomes with the dynamic needs of the labor market. He emphasized that the swift changes in the education sector necessitate investment in future skills and the adoption of flexible and inclusive learning methods to ensure the readiness and competitiveness of Bahraini talent both locally and globally.

The private education sector is a promising contributor to the national economy, representing approximately 3.98% of Bahrain’s GDP, as noted in the Kingdom’s 2024 Economic Report. The total number of public and private educational institutions stands at 288, according to the latest statistics from the Ministry of Education.

Under the auspices of Tamkeen, the “Skills Bahrain” initiative aims to harmonize education and training outputs with labor market needs through analyzing key economic sectors and workforce data. It collaborates closely with employers, education and training providers, and relevant government entities to furnish the necessary information and tools for skills development. The initiative seeks to establish clear career pathways that ease the transition from education to employment, preparing qualified and competitive Bahraini professionals for the future.
