Manama: The Labour Fund (Tamkeen) has launched an interactive booth for Career World, part of the Skills Bahrain initiative, at City Centre Bahrain. This initiative aims to offer students and young Bahrainis valuable career guidance and information on the labour market.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the launch event was attended by Maha Abdulhameed Mofeez, Chief Executive of Tamkeen, and Alya Al Aali, Deputy Chief Executive of Strategy and Insights at Tamkeen. Situated at Entrance 1, the booth connects visitors to the Career World platform, which features over 160 professions. It provides details on relevant academic disciplines, necessary skills, and potential career paths. Additionally, students have the opportunity to schedule career guidance and counselling sessions via the platform.
Alya Al Aali emphasized that the initiative seeks to convert labour market insights into practical resources, assisting students and young Bahrainis in making educated decisions regarding their education and careers. She highlighted that the booth aims to enhance access to career guidance resources, supporting early career planning efforts.
Career World stands as Bahrain's first dedicated career guidance and counselling platform. It is part of the Skills Bahrain initiative, implemented by Tamkeen in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Higher Education Council, utilizing data from the Information and eGovernment Authority (iGA). The platform serves students, parents, and career counsellors by offering labour market information and guidance to align interests, skills, and career aspirations with both current and future labour market demands.
