Tamkeen Backs Career Development for 55 Bahrain Islamic Bank Employees

Manama: The Labour Fund "Tamkeen" has announced its commitment to support the employment and salary enhancements of 55 Bahraini employees at Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB). This initiative is part of Tamkeen's broader strategy to boost national employment through programs such as the National Employment Program, the Leadership Employment Program, and the Wage Increment Program.

According to Bahrain News Agency, this support aligns with Tamkeen's strategic goals for 2025, which aim to bolster the competitiveness of Bahrainis in the private sector. By equipping them with necessary skills, Tamkeen focuses on career development, enterprise growth, digitisation, and sustainability. It also seeks to enhance the labour market ecosystem in Bahrain.

Khalid Al Bayat, Chief Growth Officer at Tamkeen, expressed satisfaction with the initiative, stating that it contributes to the financial sector, which is the largest contributor to Bahrain's GDP, making up 17.1% in Q2 of 2024. He reiterated Tamkeen's dedication to various economic sectors, particularly those offering promising career growth and employment opportunities for national talent. Al Bayat highlighted that Tamkeen's programmes are designed to incentivise employees and support their professional growth.

Afnan Saleh, Chief Human Resources Officer at BisB, voiced her approval of the collaboration with Tamkeen, underscoring its role in crafting clear career progression plans for employees. She noted that the financial sector remains dynamic and evolving, presenting diverse opportunities for skilled workers. This partnership aims to empower Bahraini talent to secure rewarding roles and drive positive changes in the labour market.

BisB is a partner bank under Tamkeen's "Tamweel" programme, offering Sharia-compliant financing solutions to enterprises. Through a suite of initiatives, Tamkeen aims to position Bahrainis as the preferred choice for employment, thereby establishing the private sector as the primary driver of economic growth in the Kingdom.
