Manama: The Supreme Council for Environment (SCE) has launched a newly developed customs clearance request service for imports and exports, transforming it into a fully electronic platform. This new service allows businesses to verify their compliance with environmental requirements prior to initiating customs clearance procedures.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the enhancements introduced by the SCE have significantly streamlined the customs clearance process. The required documentation has been reduced by 50%, the number of application steps has decreased from four to three, and the processing time has been cut down from 20 working days to just three. Additionally, the service now automates verification and clearance procedures and is electronically integrated with customs systems.
Amna Hamad Al Rumaihi, Chief Executive of the SCE, emphasized that this service aims to enhance the speed and efficiency of transactions, ultimately supporting the business environment. She also mentioned that this development is part of a larger initiative to upgrade 50 electronic services.
