Sunni Endowments Council Sign MoU for Mosque Construction in Muharraq

Muharraq: Shaikh Dr. Rashid bin Mohammed bin Futtais Al Hajri, Chairman of the Sunni Endowments Council, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the construction of the Aisha Ahmed Saqr Al Marri Mosque in Muharraq Governorate.

According to Bahrain News Agency, Shaikh Dr. Al Hajri highlighted the significant role mosques play in shaping balanced and responsible individuals through their social, educational, and community contributions. He acknowledged the support of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and the government, led by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in facilitating mosque construction and addressing challenges facing such charitable projects.

He further stressed the importance of joint efforts by individuals and institutions in supporting places of worship projects, showcasing the spirit of community partnership and charitable giving for which the Kingdom is recognized.

The project site, covering an area of 1,729.8 square metres, includes a prayer hall for men and another for women, health facilities and restrooms, accommodation for the imam and the muathin, as well as several waqf commercial shops affiliated with the project.
